I had to leave from work last September 12, 2009 since my husband who is supposed to accompany my daughter that day to her Educational Tour had a last minute appointment. He had to ask me to ask permission from my boss if I can leave work that day so somebody can accompany my daughter on her very first “Educational Tour”.  I learned to start counting my blessings that day.  It kept me composed.  It made me control my impatience and not explode.  After lunchtime, next itinerary was to visit fun land.  We had to stay for 2 hours under the sun without shade because my daughter would want to play around.  I have no choice but accompany her to make sure she does not slip, fall or stumble.  The heat and thirst was really trying my patience.  Then I realized that day was the first time I had actually spent time with my daughter.  Unlike my eldest son, I was the one who really nursed him from day one until he was four years old.  So I made a choice to give my all to my daughter this time.  Since she was six month old, I started working so I never really had a chance to spend time with her as much as I wanted to.  She is already 4 years old and yet this is the first time I actually spent one whole day with her and just the two of us.  I could see how happy she was that day.  It made me teary eyed remembering her smile when she found out that I would be the one who would accompany her.  I did not regret I had to leave from work that day.  Under the sun, I was able to show my love to my daughter.  I hope there will be more of this to come.  I know she will always remember that day.  I want her to keep that day in her heart and I hope that she will realize that this life really is a Beautiful Journey because of that experience.
