Buy his favorite cologne one day telling him you want him to smell good enough to eat. Believe me, he’ll wear it. Have you ever purchased your husband’s favorite cologne? I buy what I like him to wear. If your husband likes to wear cologne, get him some. If he does not wear it, encourage him to. Let him know what it does to you, and he’ll wear it.

Run the kids to the little league games for him sometime and let him stay at home. This gives him the “day off”. Some of these transporting errands just wear you out, don’t they?

Take time to visit one of your old favorite hangouts. Just go sit and reminisce about simpler times in your life. Reflecting on where you have traveled from and what has brought you to where you are today can encourage you. You can see how the hand of God has guided your lives This builds faith. This will mean more to you as the years go by. We often visit favorite old places in the town we live in and other places too. Do this often. Look back and see how God has walked with you, guiding your moves.

Reorganize his closet for him sometime. Maybe you will find something he’s been looking for and something you forgot you had- all because you sorted the stuff in his closet. Who knows what treasures will turn up. Sometimes I can’t even keep my own closet organized, but I do like to help. When I am going through his closet, I usually take a few of his shirts that I like to lounge around in. He thinks they are just dissapearing. Hey, you might find a whole new wardrobe in there. You may also find other interesting articles that belong in the kid’s toy box or even the garage.

Be his biggest fan and his loudest cheerleader when he accomplishes something significant in his life. Share in the moments that excite him. Let him know how proud you are of him. This is not rocket science, you know. I brag on my husband just for keeping our room clean. These days, that is no small feat.

Spend time making and discussing future plans with your husband. These things build and promote security for both of you, and it says you plan to be together “till death do us part.”

In a while we will be leaving to go to my son’s school for their annual Family Day. And this year, it falls during Valentines Day. Amidst the busyness that is going on preparing for the things that we need to bring to school and preparing for the things that my husband would be bringing for his business trip a11:00 AM today,still I am feeling the spirit of valentines today. My kids are so excited for today. However my husband and I already made plans for our valentines celebration when he gets back tomorrow. We did not give each other valentine presents. Though I received valentine cards both from my kids. It seems like my husband and I already gave each other save the date postcards. We already know that this day is supposed to be our day. But due to some situations that we could not control, we had to postpone it a day after. But the day or the event should not matter after all. It’s what keeping the love alive, every single day matters most. Falling in love is really easy. But staying in love is what always counts. So to all those lovers out there, you really don’t have to wait for Valentines Day to show love to each other. Let everyday be a valentines day. Stay in love everyone.

If he carries a pager, devise a secret code you can him during the day that says “I love you” or I’m thinking about you.” I guarantee he will smile wherever he is. We have so much fun therough the years, even when we could not be together. We would devise certain numbers to get accross a message. When we did’nt have cellphones, this came in handy, especially when one of us is on the road. Try this with your partner. You can always be in touch. I know that pagers are old school already. But who knows, there might still be people who are using it. Theres no harm in trying to create this one for them. For the rest who are already modern, just do it with SMS. It works the same.

Do him a big favor: Don’t make him out up Christmas lights this year. If he does not want any more lights, let him off the hook for once. every year my vision for more lights grows. Putting those things up reminds me of Chevy Chase in the movie Christmas Vacation. Poor Joe…every time he thinks he’s got it right, three more fuses blows, the reindeer fall down, and only half the tree is lit. He no longer wants a tree or decorations. In fact, he is ready to skip Christmas altogether. Go easy on him with the decor if at all possible.
